Running Strength

Running Strength

Running is a sport that naturally builds full body strength because it is high impact and utilizes large and stabilizing muscles. Because of this, many runners think they can avoid strength workouts. Not So Fast. Strength work is crucial for athletes being able to maintain the day to day impact, provide power to each step, and stay lean.

Arm + Leg Quickie.png

This routine is one I use a couple times a week as it provides a basic full body boost without going too deep and creating excessive soreness. Depending on your personal fitness, use weights and props to get more out of this. I use a light weight (~15 pounds) for this routine along with a box for my lunges to elevate one leg and make it more challenging.
