Cookies worth cheating on your diet for.

Who doesn't like a good cookie?

Good diets are all about balance. So it's okay to throw in something that isn't uber green, lean, and superfood worthy!  These cookies are chewy, flavorful and crisp. Have one with coffee for a snack or take one along for your long ride.

Drool worthy.

Drool worthy.

+ 2 cups Oats, old fashioned
+ 1 cup butter, softened
+ 2 Eggs
+ 1 tsp Baking Powder
+ 1/2 tsp Baking Soda
+ 2 cups Flour, gluten free cup equivalent
+ 2 cups Brown Sugar

+ 1 cup Slivered Almonds
+ 1/2 tbsp Allspice
+ 2 tbsp Golden Syrup
+ 1 tbsp Milk

Turn oven on to 350. Line a pan with parchment.
Cream sugar and butter. Add the egg, milk, zest, golden syrup, and extract. Beat until egg is well combined. Add all dry ingredients except oats and almonds. Beat until a uniform batter forms. Stir in oats and almonds. On a prepared baking sheet, place heaping spoonfuls of the dough 2'' apart from each other. Gently pat the dough down. Cookies will spread out. Bake for roughly 12 minutes, until the edges just begin to brown. Transfer to a cooling rack and repeat.
